Personality Assessment
The goal of personality assessment is to help people understand themselves better (e.g., why they struggle to manage emotions or form healthy relationships) and receive recommendations for next steps that would help address their problems.
Assessment is much different from therapy. Assessment typically requires an intake, one or two testing appointments (e.g., completing standardized questionnaires, structured interviews), and a final feedback session. Unlike therapy, assessment aims to explain clients' problems rather than treat them. The entire assessment process usually takes about four to five weeks from start to finish.
Not everyone needs personality assessment. Working with a therapist can often help you get the insight and recommendations you need. However, an assessment can sometimes clarify the causes of your concerns and identify next steps.
